How it works

All by email, from your home country

No need to travel to Spain and no Spanish bank account for the first payment.

  1. Tell me about your case

On WhatsApp or with the form. We review your procedure, your dates and what your consulate requires.

  2. Send me your documents

By email. I submit your application to ASISA. [PROCESSING TIME]

  3. Accept the conditions

You receive an email to accept the pre-contractual information and then the payment link.

  4. Pay and get your certificate

By card. When you pay, the certificate and your contract arrive by email.

Do not send medical data, ID documents or bank details on WhatsApp. Buying requires a health questionnaire and acceptance by ASISA. [DOCUMENTS JUAN ASKS FOR] [CHANNEL FOR THE HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE]

If your visa is refused

You get your money back if the policy has not started yet

Health Students and Health Residents are non-refundable, except in this case. Both conditions must be met at the same time:

  1. 1The policy has not yet come into force.
  2. 2You provide an official letter from the Consulate or the competent Ministry confirming the refusal of the visa or residence permit.

The refund is paid to the same card used for the original payment, following ASISA’s procedure. Once the policy has started, there is no premium refund and no change to the start date.

Distance contracts: ASISA’s information notes include a 14-day right of withdrawal from delivery of the documents. [LEGAL REVIEW: pending written confirmation from ASISA on how it applies to Health Students and Health Residents] Students (PDF) · Residents (PDF)

Frequently asked questions

Does the insurance guarantee that my visa will be granted?

No. Insurance is one of the requirements you may be asked for. The consulate or the competent authority decides on the whole application.

Does every foreign national need private insurance?

No. It depends on the type of stay or permit and on each person’s health coverage. That is why we review your procedure before offering you a policy.

What happens when I need to renew my residence?

To renew the non-lucrative residence, the Ministry of Inclusion requires that you have kept the health insurance while the permit was valid and continue with it. Health Residents is extended year by year; we check the dates with you so there are no gaps in cover.

Can I insure my whole family on the same policy?

Health Students and Health Residents allow up to 10 insured persons per contract. From the fourth insured person (inclusive) there is a 10% discount applied to everyone on the policy, according to the information note. Each person is subject to a health questionnaire and acceptance by ASISA.

See 6 more questions
Can I renew if my stay gets longer?

Health Students ends on its expiry date and cannot be renewed or extended: a new policy would be needed, subject to its requirements. Health Residents allows yearly extensions paid by direct debit. Do not assume renewal is automatic; we review it with you.

What does “no co-payments and no waiting periods” mean, and what are the limits?

It refers to the health care cover of Health Students and Health Residents. There are exclusions and limits per benefit: for example, podiatry up to 12 sessions and psychiatric hospitalisation up to 50 days per year. The product document sets a €7,000 deductible for Da Vinci surgery and travel medical expenses of up to €25,000 per insured person and trip. Optional covers have their own conditions. Read the IPID and the information note before buying.

Can I go to any ASISA centre?

Health Students and Health Residents use a specific medical network, different from other ASISA policies. Before you buy, we check which professionals and centres are available in the province where you will live.

What documents can ASISA ask for?

For Health Students, documents about the study programme may be required; for Health Residents, documents showing that the insurance is needed to apply for or renew residence. ASISA may ask for them when you buy and while the policy is in force. Not providing them may lead to the contract ending, under the policy rules.

Is it more expensive to buy through you than from ASISA?

No. It is the same price as buying directly from ASISA. The difference is that a person reviews your case before you buy.
